ATE (LENR)
(Atomic Transmutation Energy a.k.a. as Low-Energy Nuclear Reaction)
Currently, the most promising source of energy is attributed to "low-energy nuclear reaction" (LENR), "lattice-assisted nuclear reaction" (LANR), ”nickel-hydrogen exothermic reactions” technologies that we think are best characterized as ATE (Atomic Transmutation Energy), and we have been actively participating in bringing applications of these technologies forward.

1) Nxt-Energy Transportation Energy System
Nxt -Energy has been working on a clean, sustainable, perpetually renewable, green, non-carbon energy system that is ideal as the future transportation fuel that is usable in existing vehicles and internal combustion engines with slight vehicle modification. The exhaust is water and nitrogen, the fuel is presently produced in 150 million tons per year quantities and can be produced in the USA from air, water and energy such as geothermal, nuclear, OTEC, coal, etc. It allows, but does not require, a 30 to 1 compression ratio and the attendant significant efficiency increase. The liquid fuel has existing pipelines and ship transportation allowing the USA to become the world’s vehicle energy source and sell USA vehicles using this liquid fuel to the world. Our staff has worked with this fuel and its use for 50 years and is familiar with the entire sustainable production, distribution and use system cycle and we have a clear plan for its use in cars and trucks as the sustainable, renewable clean fuel for tens of thousands of years.
We would like to discuss how we might work with you so this complete cohesive transportation energy plan may be presented to the government as a short and long term solution to the major problems of pollution, oil addiction, and the coming oil shortage crisis. This system could allow the continued use of the millions of highly developed internal combustion engine driven vehicle systems while becoming energy independent in a clean, green, no carbon, long term energy secure future world and country and maintain the USA as the vehicle production and use capital of the world. No major vehicle retooling, engineering and fuel distribution system changes are needed and this can put the USA back to work as a leader. This fuel also is the best medium for the delivery of hydrogen for fuel cells however the portion of energy delivered is substantially less than when used as an IC engine fuel.
2) High speed and high frequency generator and motor systems which allow high efficiency, small, low cost centrifugal compressors and turbines in the small and medium (20 Kw) size range up usually left to scroll, vane or reciprocating machinery. Many sizes rotate at 10s of thousand revolutions per minute and are one tenth the size and weight of traditional machinery and lower in cost. Flux Switch designs have no rotating windings and have run at 150,000 RPM. The generators are directly coupled to small gas turbines for ultra light weight.
3) We have also developed regenerative compressors and blowers that can develop high compression ratios at conventional 60 Hz. motor speeds even in the small size range.
4) We have developed and patented very low cost high power converters that convert low to high and high to low frequencies and can also deliver variable frequencies both ways. These can drive the high speed flux switch motors and deliver precise output frequencies at variable generator speeds and allow simple, low cost high power rotating machinery. We have patents on range extender additions for electric vehicles and flux switch motor variable speed electric vehicle drive systems where the drive motor is within the wheel.
5) We are also working and have patents on Anhydrous Ammonia fuel systems including the making of the fuel using geothermal, nuclear, OREC, wind, solar, hydro and electrical energy and then using the anhydrous ammonia fuel in internal combustion engines and vehicles where the exhaust is water and nitrogen and no pollution. These ammonia fuel systems are very efficient and energy dense energy storage and peaking power solutions.
BACKGROUND OF FOUNDING MEMBER
Dr. Harold T. Adkins, PhD, BS, MS, Registered Licensed Professional Engineer specializing in green energy and environmental technologies. Microsoft Certified Professional with Infotek Inc., Senior (and lifetime) member of IEEE, member of Society of Professional Engineers, and CoFounder of National Fiber Optics Society. He began his post grad. career starting the Army’s electronics and missile laboratory and expanded it to include nuclear physics and solid state physics. He later expanded it into robotics and infrared. He became Chief Engineer on the Dart missile and took it from a research project to complete systems production in 2 years. As project manager of the “OPTAR” pulsed light range finder for Army tanks, he developed the highest temperature pulsed plasma source of the time and funded laser concept and development. This later helped start the ultra high temperature pulsed plasma non-fission based nuclear fusion research and development. He ran a project for a battlefield energy source which settled on anhydrous ammonia made on site with nuclear energy using air and water and using the ammonia in traditional IC engines in place of hydrocarbon fuel. He developed a vehicle missile called ‘David’. He also contributed to the Nevada atom bomb testing program. He has been President of several public and private companies and as the founding member of Nxt-Energy.com, he has been continuing his research in energy technologies.
